Cala hands over homes at Queensferry Heights

Manor Estates Housing Association has taken possession of 10 three-bedroom family homes at Queensferry Heights.

The houses form the first phase of its newest development in the area, which will include a further 15 one and two-bedroom flats due to be completed in Spring 2026.

The Association has been working in partnership with Cala Homes (East) and supported by its development agent, Curb (part of the Link Group). The £4.3 million project is supported by grant funding from the Scottish Government’s Affordable Housing Investment Programme and additional City of Edinburgh Council funding.

Manor Estates has previously worked with Cala Homes (East) on its first development in the South Queensferry area, which consisted of 15 mid-market rented flats and a further four family homes. This new phase will bring the total of new houses in the area to 44, the majority of which are for affordable social rent.

At sign-up, one tenant commented on how beautiful and quiet the estate was and said that they would be very happy there. They were particularly delighted with the spacious bathrooms and kitchen. As they had previously been living in a flat, they were very appreciative of the garden.

Claire Ironside, CEO, said: “I am delighted that Manor Estates HA can play its part in increasing the supply of affordable homes in South Queensferry. In particular, this second phase of our development is providing much needed family accommodation in the area.”

Ian Crawford, chair, added: “It is wonderful to see this development coming to fruition and providing high quality homes for families. The site at Queensferry Heights has great local amenities and some of the most iconic views in Scotland.”
