Campion Homes has begun construction on three major affordable housing developments for Fife Council in Dunfermline and Inverkeithing.

The sites, Evershed Drive and Elgin Street in Dunfermline, and Fraser Avenue Phase 3 in Inverkeithing, will collectively deliver 128 new homes, including specialist sheltered housing, family homes and accessible bungalows.

The three sites reflect a diverse mix of housing typologies and planning approaches.

Evershed Drive in Dunfermline will deliver 40 sheltered flats with communal amenities, air source heating and EV charging, tailored to meet the needs of older residents and wheelchair users

Elgin Street, also in Dunfermline, will see 44 affordable homes built on a former brownfield site, offering a mews-style development with strong urban connectivity and access to local amenities

Fraser Avenue Phase 3 in Inverkeithing completes a transformational regeneration masterplan, replacing outdated housing with 44 modern, energy-efficient homes designed around community input and safe, walkable streets.

Dougie Herd, joint managing director at Campion Homes, said: “At Campion Homes, we don’t just build houses, we deliver homes that empower people and strengthen communities. These three developments reflect our long-standing commitment to affordable housing in Fife and our belief that quality, accessible homes should be the norm, not the exception.

“As an SME builder rooted in this region, we’re proud to work hand-in-hand with Fife Council to meet local needs and help shape a more inclusive, sustainable housing future for Scotland.”

Jennifer Davie, Fife Council’s project manager for new build affordable housing, said: “Fife Council welcomes the commencement of these three significant affordable housing developments in Dunfermline and Inverkeithing.

“The delivery of more than 120 new homes marks an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to increasing the supply of high-quality, energy-efficient housing across Fife.”

She added: “Our continued partnership with Campion Homes is instrumental in achieving these ambitions. Campion has consistently demonstrated a strong track record in delivering well-designed, sustainable homes that respond to local needs and enhance the wider community.

“These developments will provide much-needed homes for a diverse range of residents, from older people and those with additional accessibility requirements to families seeking modern, affordable housing. We look forward to seeing the positive impact these projects will bring to our communities as they progress.”

Mr Herd continued: “As Scotland’s housing emergency continues to demand urgent, joined-up action, Campion Homes remains steadfast in its commitment to delivery. With over 3,500 homes completed to date, we bring deep local insight, agility and a collaborative ethos to every project.

“Our work across Fife exemplifies the vital role smaller developers play in unlocking challenging sites, supporting local supply chains and building homes that support wellbeing, independence and opportunity. Alongside this, we’re committed to delivering wider community benefits, whether through local employment, skills development or creating spaces that foster connection and pride.

“With a robust pipeline ahead and strong partnerships in place, Campion Homes stands ready to help shape a more inclusive, responsive housing future for Scotland.”
