Care home plan revealed at site of Prestwick hotel

Plans have been submitted to demolish a seafront Prestwick hotel and replace it with a 64 bedroom care home.

The application, which was submitted by Glasgow-based developer Simply UK, would bring an end to Parkstone Hotel which has operated in the former Edwardian mansion for more than 80 years.
Designs show the new care home would be three storeys high.
