Clark Contracts’ long-running Academy programme has seen progress with the recruitment of 15 new trainees and apprentices across the business so far this year.
The Clark Contracts Academy, which was founded in 2006, was set up to deliver structured pathways into the construction industry, helping trainees and apprentices as they develop their careers via practical experience, mentoring and qualifications.
This 2026 intake includes trainee quantity surveyors and trainee site managers, as well as apprentices in office-based positions within administration, maintenance, estimating and planning.
All trainees will get support from a mentor while working towards qualifications through Modern Apprenticeship, Graduate Apprenticeship, HNC and Honours Degree pathways.
Their development will be driven by practical experience in Clark Contracts’ projects and departments, with formal learning delivered by education partners such as Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh Napier University, Glasgow Caledonian University, City of Glasgow College and West College Scotland.
Gordon Cunningham, managing director, Clark Contracts, said: “Our Academy continues to play an important role in bringing new people into the industry, helping address skills shortages while ensuring the next generation of construction professionals receive the guidance, training and opportunities they need to build successful careers.”
