Cleartech strengthens future workforce with ongoing apprentice investment
Building maintenance firm Cleartech is continuing to invest in the next generation of engineering and commissioning talent, with six apprentices currently attending college and a further eight team members who have progressed through the company’s apprenticeship routes in previous years.
At a time when skills shortages continue to place pressure on the construction and building services sectors, Cleartech said its long-standing commitment to apprenticeships is playing an important role in strengthening the industry’s future workforce.
“Our apprentices are an integral part of our team”, said Jim McGuigan, CEO of Cleartech. “We’re proud to support the young people of our generation into the industry and give them the experience that they actually need to succeed. Investing in apprentices doesn’t just benefit Cleartech, it benefits the industry by helping address the growing demand for skilled engineers.”
A key part of this continued success is the work of Diane Wood, people & business support manager, whose dedication to Cleartech’s apprenticeship programme has been central to the smooth operation and growth. Diane provides ongoing guidance, coordination, and support for apprentices throughout their training, ensuring they have the correct resources and structure that they need to progress.
Cleartech’s apprenticeship journey has already produced a number of success stories, with several former apprentices now working as established team members across commissioning and water hygiene roles. Some have grown from apprentices to be part of their senior management team.
By providing a structured learning environment with meaningful on-site experience, the company continues to build a strong pipeline of talent capable of supporting increasingly complex and technically demanding projects across the UK and Ireland.
