Construction begins on £1m community hub project in Colinton

Construction has begun on a £1 million community heritage and arts hub in Spylaw Park, Colinton, Edinburgh following nearly a decade of community-led fundraising and development.
The project designed by MDA Studio for Colinton Village Enterprise SCIO will transform a former coach house into a multi-purpose facility providing space for local events, arts and community use. The site forms part of the historic Spylaw House estate and has been brought forward through a community asset transfer from the City of Edinburgh Council.
The development represents a significant investment in local infrastructure and public space, supporting community activity and improving access to facilities within the park.
The scheme is currently on site, with completion anticipated in December 2026.
