Dandara is expanding its reach into Edinburgh with plans for a high-end residential apartment scheme close to Murrayfield.

Located on the site of a former office development off Corstorphine Road, Traquair House will be the developer’s first investment in the capital.

Gavin Wyley, managing director of Dandara’s operations in Scotland, said the company was actively working on other opportunities in the city and Lothians.

He said: “We are now looking to engage with Edinburgh City Council, as we prepare to unveil proposals for our first residential development in the capital.

“The Dandara brand is synonymous with quality – and over the past six years we have received more than 20 industry awards for the high standard of architecturally innovative, environment-sensitive urban and rural developments we have delivered in Aberdeen alone.

“We are focussed on replicating the success we have enjoyed in north-east Scotland in particular, by acquiring sites in and around the city which are suitable for residential, as well as Grade A office and high quality commercial premises.

“This location in Corstorphine is a prime site and the perfect place for us to launch into the Edinburgh marketplace. We are actively working on further opportunities in the city and the wider Lothian area, led by our land director Niall Macleod.”

Dandara was recently nominated for nine prizes in the UK round of the International Property Awards, including recognition for the newly-launched Forbes Place PRS community at Stoneywood in Aberdeen.

Forbes Place has been recognised in the Architecture Residential High Rise Development, and Apartment/Condominium categories. Dandara’s Stoneywood and Hazelwood residential property developments in Aberdeen have also been acknowledged with the Townhouse at Waterton Mews shortlisted in the Architecture Single Residence category and Beech Walk at Hazelwood nominated in the Residential Development category and the Residential Property category.

The Dandara Group is also in the running for a further three prizes for developments elsewhere in the UK.
