Dandara makes £500 donation to Musselburgh youth football team
Musselburgh Youngstars 2014s team is now sporting new tops following a £500 donation from Dandara.
The young players will wear the new kit when they participate in the Scottish Cup South East Region and the Division 3 Alpha Trophies league, where the team is currently third in the table.
William Gordon, head coach at Musselburgh Youngstars, said: “Dandara’s support means a great deal to our players, coaches and families, helping us continue to develop as a team and compete in grassroots football.
“We are incredibly grateful for the investment in our young players and the local community.”
Gordon added: “As a community-based team, we rely on the commitment of our volunteer coaches, supportive families and local businesses to give our young players opportunities to develop, compete and enjoy football.”
Musselburgh Youngstars, which was set up in 2003 by a group of parents, now has more than 200 players aged between 5 and 17, and 32 coaches over eight different age groups.
The 2014s team comprises 18 boys and girls aged 12 who are developing their skills, confidence, and teamwork via competitive grassroots football.
Claire Bathgate, head of sales, Dandara Scotland, said: “It’s great to be able to support Musselburgh Youngstars with this new football kit and to play a small part in helping the team continue to grow and thrive.
Bathgate added: “Clubs like this are at the heart of their communities, giving young people the opportunity to be active, build confidence and friendships, and develop skills that will stay with them both on and off the pitch.”
“The team plays its home fixtures at Wallyford Park close to our sell-out development of homes, The Pines.
“We hope that some of our young residents will be inspired to support the team and get involved.”
