Doig+Smith appointed on framework for project and commercial management
The independent construction consultancy, Doig+Smith, has been named as a supplier to Government Commercial Agency’s (GCA) RM 6356 Construction Professional Services 2 framework.
Forming part of the consortium, Pulse, Doig and Smith, and Rainey Consortium, the firm has secured places on Lot 3 – Project Management and Lot 4 – Commercial Management, enabling it to provide various services to public sector clients.
The firm will deliver services across the UK together with partners, Pulse Consult in England and Rainey & Best in Northern Ireland.
These appointments will see Doig+Smith aid programme and project management, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, and offer expertise in cost and programme control, risk management and governance that mirrors legislation, alongside industry standards and best practice.
The framework gives the opportunity to central government departments and the wider UK public sector - including local authorities, healthcare, education, and emergency services - to get construction professional services.
Operating between April 2026 to April 2030, the four-year framework has been set up under the Procurement Act 2023 to maintain compliant procurement practices.
Lot 3 enables contracting authorities to access experienced professionals that are able to lead complex construction projects. Lot 4 enables specialist commercial management support to maintain financial efficiency, contractual adherence and cost-effectiveness across projects.
Fraser McQuarrie, chief executive officer of Doig+Smith, which is now in its 90th year, said: “This appointment is a significant achievement for Doig+Smith and reflects both our heritage and our continued commitment to delivering excellence across the public sector.
“Securing places on both Project and Commercial Management Lots demonstrates the depth of our expertise and the strength of our people.”
McQuarrie added: “As a business with a long-standing track record in supporting complex projects, we are proud to bring our experience to this framework and to play a role in shaping successful outcomes for public sector clients across the UK.”
