Children at a Glasgow nursery were all smiles after one of Scotland’s biggest demolition firms delivered a cracking donation of free Easter eggs.
Youngsters attending the Wyndford Nursery in Glasgow’s Maryhill area were delighted with the 50 chocolate gifts from Dem-Master.
The demolition company is working with the community as part of its contract with Wheatley Homes at Wyndford.
The £100 million regeneration of the community will see over 400 new, larger homes – 85% for social rent and 15% for mid-market – built for Wheatley in the area thanks to grant funding from Glasgow City Council and the Scottish Government.
As part of the transformation, Dem-Master will demolish the old community hub. A new two-storey height hall will be built, including café space, a computer centre, bookable meeting rooms, provision for further education glasses, and a gym.
Laura Kelly, Dem-Master’s community liaison officer, said: “Dem-Master is pleased to support Wyndford Nursery with this Easter egg donation as part of our community benefits commitment on the Wyndford Community Hub project.
“Community engagement is really important to us, and we’re proud to play a small part in bringing a bit of Easter joy to local children.”
Wheatley Foundation, part of Wheatley, is also stepping up to help children enjoy a fun-filled Easter.
In total, 627 eggs are going to kids across Central and Southern Scotland thanks to generous donations from Wheatley staff, UNISON Housing and Care Scotland branch and contractors.
Wheatley Foundation’s Lynne Mitchell said: “We would like to thank Wheatley staff and our contractors for donating the eggs. The eggs will bring a smile to the faces of so many children from vulnerable homes who may have gone without this Easter.”
