Fife Council calls for public input on Leven promenade options

Fife Council is proposing to carry out a range of improvements on Leven Promenade to improve its appearance, accessibility and amenity.

The council is keen to hear people’s views on what could and should be done to make Leven’s fantastic Promenade a more attractive and usable place for residents and visitors alike.

Amey Consulting has drawn up two potential design schemes, Options A and B, both of which intend to increase the space for promenade users and improve active travel (walking and cycling) connections along the promenade, linking to the town centre, visitor attractions, the Fife Coastal Path and the new Leven Rail Station.

An online questionnaire has been set up to record people’s preferences, and an in-person drop-in event will also be held at the Leven Kino between 2pm and 7pm on Tuesday, October 24.

The design options will be available to view on the day and members of the project team will be on hand to answer any questions.

Councillor Colin Davidson, convener of the Levenmouth Area Committee, said: “I’d encourage everyone to get involved with this consultation and help shape how Leven Promenade will look over the coming years, with the ongoing investment in Silverburn, world class golf courses, hugely popular coastal path and beautiful coastline, it’s important we get the future development and investment in the Promenade right.

“We all want Leven to be a destination of choice for residents and visitors, so hearing people’s views on what they think will work well is hugely important to us.”

The design options A and B are available to view now via the Levenmouth Reconnected website here.
