Flats planned at former Kinghorn Scout hall

Flats planned at former Kinghorn Scout hall

Plans have been submitted to transform a former Scout hall in Kinghorn into flats.

Developer Scotia Gas Care Ltd and Stuart King Architecture & Design have proposed dividing the three-storey town hall building on St Leonard’s Place into three two-bedroom flats.

If approved, new sash and case windows will be installed while a new floor will be built to split the existing hall height and create space for the flats.

The first-floor rear extension would also be demolished.

The C-listed building was built sometime around 1838 as part of the St Leonard’s flax mill – which is listed separately and has long since been converted to flats.

More recently, it was used as a Scout hall. However, it has since lain unoccupied and fallen into disrepair for a number of years.

“Generally, the building’s condition will be upgraded, as far as is reasonably practicable to meet today’s standards,” developers said.
