Glasgow build to rent development reaches 20 storeys
Contractor GRAHAM has completed the core of developer PLATFORM_’s landmark build to rent (BTR) scheme at Central Quay, which now stands as one of Glasgow’s tallest buildings at 20 storeys (circa 60m high).
Designed by architect Keppie, the £100 million residential-led development will create 498 high-quality apartments across four blocks, ranging from six to 20 storeys in height.
Located between the city centre and the west end, the development will be complete with a range of amenities including a state-of-the-art gym, landscaped courtyard, two roof terraces, library and cinema room, creating an exclusive waterside community which will be home to over 1,000 residents.
Residents will also enjoy a private games room, guest lounges and group dining rooms.
Given its prominent location at the Broomielaw, the development will help to revitalise an important thoroughfare and contribute significant investment towards the ambitious regeneration of the Clyde Waterfront, which has been earmarked by Glasgow City Council as an area for urban renewal.
The modern and functionally designed one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments will help to meet the requirement for new housing in the city centre, as demand continues to outweigh supply, with future-proofed housing stock for generations to come.
