Green light for Glasgow student accommodation tower

North Hanover Street looking northPlans have been approved for a 19 storey student residential tower in Glasgow’s Cathedral Street.

The existing retail store at 355 Cathedral Street, currently owned by Forrest Furnishing, will be demolished to make way for the 368-bed development.

Designed by Urban Office Architects, the tower will incorporate a ground floor reception and meeting space, above which will be a mezzanine level offering occupants a fully equipped gym, study bays and movie theatre.

A rooftop viewing deck will also be provided while public realm to Cathedral Street and North Hannover Street will be upgraded.
