GTG Training delivers accredited construction courses

GTG Training has expanded its construction training offering from its purpose-built facility in Linwood, Glasgow, helping to address increasing workforce demand across Scotland’s construction sector.

As investment continues across housing, infrastructure, repair and maintenance projects, the industry faces growing demand for skilled workers. GTG’s specialist training centre is supporting this need by delivering accredited construction training and qualifications designed to equip individuals with the practical skills employers are looking for.

The Linwood site is the largest dedicated construction training facility in the west of Scotland and provides delegates with hands-on experience using industry-standard machinery, including a 360 excavator and forward tipping dumper. To ensure training remains aligned to employer requirements, GTG can also hire in additional machinery and equipment to meet specific client needs.

The new and expanded construction portfolio covers a wide range of disciplines, including:

  • Lifting Operations
  • Plant Operator Training
  • Site Safety Plus
  • Working at Height
  • Vocational Qualifications
  • Construction Health and Safety
  • Senior Management Qualifications

The courses are designed for individuals looking to start a career in construction, as well as experienced workers seeking to refresh existing certifications, gain additional qualifications or develop specialist skills.

GTG also works closely with Skills Development Scotland (SDS) to help eligible learners access funding opportunities towards construction training and vocational qualifications, including Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) accredited programmes. This support helps remove barriers to training and enables more people to gain recognised industry qualifications.

With more than 30 years of industry experience, GTG’s team of expert trainers delivers a combination of practical instruction, classroom learning and on-site assessment. Their experience across a variety of construction disciplines ensures learners receive training that reflects real-world working environments and current industry standards.

Delegates can be confident they are receiving high-quality training from an organisation accredited by NPORS and operating as a CPCS Test Centre in partnership with CAT Solutions, two recognised awarding bodies within the construction industry.

Graeme Greenlees, GTG transport manager, said: “The addition of construction courses significantly enhances our training offering and reflects our commitment to supporting the industry’s future workforce needs. Our purpose-built Linwood facility provides learners with access to specialist equipment and realistic training environments, while our experienced trainers help ensure delegates gain the skills and confidence employers require.

“We are continuing to invest in our facilities and course portfolio to support both new entrants to the industry and experienced professionals looking to upskill. Through our partnership with Skills Development Scotland, we’re also helping more people access recognised qualifications and pursue rewarding careers within construction.”
