Local roots drive revitalisation of Cardrona housing development

Luminary Homes Limited has officially restarted a residential development at Horsbrugh North, Cardrona - a site that had previously stalled under former ownership.

Following the site falling into administration, Luminary Homes has been working on site since March to revitalise the area.

Recognising the concern within the local community regarding the inactive site, the developer’s first priority has been a comprehensive “tidy and safe” programme.

This has included a full structural audit of existing works, removal of outdated materials, and extensive remedial works to ensure the development meets modern safety and quality standards.

Cameron Taylor, managing director of Luminary Homes, said: “This is more than just a business project for us; it is personal. With family in Innerleithen, and our contracts manager, Brian Grahame, hailing from Walkerburn, we have a genuine connection to the area.

“We are determined to transform the site into a development the Borders can be proud of.”

The technical delivery is being led by Brian Grahame, who brings over 40 years of experience in the Scottish construction industry, including senior roles with Cala Homes.
