The Lovell Central Square development, at the heart of the £1 billion Winchburgh masterplan, will include 176 energy-efficient homes, with 69 available for social rent in partnership with Wheatley Group, supported by Scottish Government funding and 107 for private sale by Lovell Homes.

To raise funds, the Lovell office and construction teams organised a sponsored ‘Colourful Clothing Day’ and proceeds will support ‘Therapeutic Horticulture’ sessions at SAMH Wellbeing Hubs in Boghall and St John’s Hospital in Livingston. From potting plants to pruning, gardening has been
shown to reduce anxiety and improve mood. Research by Edinburgh Napier University, published in 2020, found that increased access to green space provides significant mental health benefits.

The Winchburgh masterplan includes a new community with schools, nurseries, shops and sports facilities and extensive green and outdoor spaces.
