McTaggart to host ‘Meet the buyer’ event in Dundee

An event to secure potential partners for a major Dundee development has already attracted 40 local businesses.

Business Gateway Tayside and Dundee City Council are supporting McTaggart Construction’s ‘Meet the Buyer’ initiative tomorrow at City Quay.

The networking opportunity at Business Gateway in Camperdown Street is part of the project to build 90 quality affordable homes at Mill O’ Mains.

McTaggart Construction’s recently appointed CSR manager Ross Hammell said: “As Dundee is a new area for our family run business, we have relied on partners to get the message out there and Business Gateway Tayside and Dundee City Council have been exceptional.

“Not only have they helped facilitate the event but businesses have been offered Business Gateway’s full range of support services. We couldn’t be more grateful.

“More than 40 business have taken the time to come and meet us and after such a strong response we are keen to follow up with more opportunities to develop local supply chain potential across the Tay Cities regions.

“Having a strong regional supply chain and procurement on a local level not only provides best value for money but ensures that social housing has the potential to positively impact lives beyond the bricks and mortar.”

McTaggart Construction was recently named Scottish Apprentice Employer of the Year in the Skills Development Scotland 2023 awards and Business of the Year in the prestigious Scottish Women’s Awards 2023.

McTaggart Construction managing director Janice Russell said: “A net-zero future and more high quality sustainably built homes offers abundant opportunities for our businesses and our growth plans are rooted in a commitment to partnerships, workforce development and a sustainable supply chain. We aim to make a lasting, positive impact on communities and the environment.”

The event runs from 10am to 1pm at Business Gateway Dundee, 27-28 Camperdown Street, City Quay.
