More affordable homes to be created at Masterton

Plans to deliver four new affordable houses in Dunfermline have taken a step forward.
Councillors on Fife Council’s Cabinet Committee yesterday agreed to conclude legally binding agreements with Carmichael Homes Scotland 2 Limited for the four new build social rent houses at Masterton in Dunfermline.
The council and its key partners from the Fife Housing Association Alliance (FHAA) are committed to delivering affordable houses as part of the Affordable Housing Programme, and this project will help increase housing options and reduce the homeless backlog across the region.
The four properties are anticipated to be funded through a grant from the Scottish Government’s Affordable Housing Supply Programme and the council’s Housing Revenue Account (HRA) Capital Budget.
“These four new houses will make a meaningful contribution to addressing the housing emergency in Fife, providing much‑needed affordable housing in a highly sought‑after part of Dunfermline,” said Councillor Judy Hamilton, Fife Council’s housing spokesperson.
“Alongside that, this project will also deliver wider benefits for the local community, including job opportunities, skills development and support for the local economy.”
Carmichael Homes is due to start on site in March 2026 and anticipates the units being completed by November 2026.
