Morris & Spottiswood has been reappointed to the NHS National Shared Services, Scottish Minor Building Works Framework.

The four-year NHS framework covers 34 geographic regions across Scotland and incorporates the delivery of new build or refurbishment projects, such as new health and social care centres, the extension of existing buildings, or upgrades to existing premises for both the NHS and other public sector organisations.

Delivering healthcare projects across both public and private sectors, Morris & Spottiswood recently completed a new acute laboratory facility for Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The two-year project was undertaken in a constrained live environment with minimal disruption and incorporated a flexible, future-proofed design of the new laboratory.

In July, Morris & Spottiswood completed its latest project with Circle Health Group at the Ross Hall Clinic in Scotland. The two-storey extension to the clinic includes theatre facilities, reception area, and a pharmacy.

The healthcare sector is a focus area for Morris & Spottiswood, with several long-term client relationships and over £25 million in project delivery over the past three years. In addition to the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust and Circle Health Group, the business also works with Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Trust, and Health Facilities Scotland.

Matthew Wall, public sector director at Morris & Spottiswood, said: “We are proud to have been appointed to the Scottish Minor Works Framework; it demonstrates the strength of our experience and expertise, and the quality of our service provision, particularly in live healthcare environments where infection control is crucial. We emphasise the importance of client partnerships and we regularly hold learnings meetings to share knowledge and ensure we apply best practice to all new projects.

“Thanks to the breadth of our group offering, including M&E specialist, Livingston Building Services, we manage all aspects of the project in-house and provide value through our supply chain partnerships. We bring cost savings as experts in the creation of space efficiency. We are pleased with the outcomes of our recently completed projects and look forward to working with new clients as part of the Minor Works Framework and beyond.”
