New Future Talent Hub to bridge Scotland's construction skills gap

This year’s Scottish Construction Summit will host a dedicated talent zone, offering employers, training providers, colleges and universities direct access to the next wave of people entering the industry, from school pupils and students through to apprentices, graduates and career changers.

With skills shortages continuing to affect businesses across Scotland, attracting and developing the right people has become a growing priority across the sector. An ageing workforce, fewer young people entering construction and increasing demand across the built environment have prompted employers, colleges, universities and training organisations to focus more closely on how they support the pipeline of future talent.

In response to this challenge, the Summit is launching the Future Talent Hub. Delivered in partnership with Developing the Young Workforce, the Hub will provide a dedicated area within Scotland’s largest construction event, where businesses, training providers and education organisations can meet motivated individuals actively exploring careers in the sector.

Rather than functioning as a standalone careers feature, it has been designed as a practical meeting point between industry and future recruits, welcoming school pupils, college and university students, apprentices, trainees, graduates, early-career professionals and those considering a move into construction from other sectors.

Organisations taking part will be able to engage with a broad audience across trades, technical disciplines, professional services, commercial functions and management, reflecting the full breadth of careers available in construction.

The Hub is well suited to contractors and subcontractors, developers and housebuilders, manufacturers and suppliers, training providers and apprenticeship specialists, colleges, universities and other education providers, as well as industry bodies and membership organisations.

Stands are available from £2,000 plus VAT and include exhibition space within the Future Talent Hub, the opportunity to run demonstrations and hands-on activities, visibility across Summit marketing and digital promotion, inclusion in the event programme, and association with the Developing the Young Workforce and Scottish Construction Summit brands.

Stand numbers will be limited to help ensure quality engagement between exhibitors and visitors.

For organisations looking to engage with future talent and raise awareness of the opportunities they offer, the Future Talent Hub provides a focused opportunity to do so under one roof.
