New gas contractor appointed at Elderpark Housing Association

At your service... the team from Elderpark with staff from City Technical Services (UK) Ltd

Elderpark Housing has appointed City Technical Services (UK) Ltd as its new gas contractor.

The company will take over the contract to service tenants’ boilers, respond to repairs and carry out gas safety checks from April 1.

The business is a Glasgow-based company with over 20 years’ experience in installing, servicing and maintaining gas appliances with a 24/7, 365 days a year call centre.

Welcoming the company to Elderpark, David Adam, director of maintenance services, said: “We look forward to a partnership which delivers for our tenants, providing a responsive and efficient service which meets their understandably high expectations.”

The appointment of City Technical Services (UK) Ltd came about after Elderpark’s previous contractor Kingdom Gas ceased trading.

Another contractor GasSure stepped in and assisted Elderpark with the ongoing gas maintenance contract.

During this period Elderpark undertook a review of its Gas Servicing Policy – at the same time engaging with tenants to assess their views - and also began a procurement exercise to have a new gas contractor in place for this April.

Following a transparent selection process, City Technical Services (UK) Ltd were successful and obtained the contract for two years with annual extensions over the next three years, resulting in a potential five-year contract should good customer satisfaction and performance be achieved.

David Adam added: “We would like to thank our tenants for their patience and understanding over the last nine months but feel sure they will welcome the appointment of a new permanent gas contractor.”

City Technical Services operations director Stuart McKindless said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the gas service and maintenance contract for Elderpark. We look forward to working with the staff of the Association and delivering a first class service to tenants.”
