Hamilton’s newest hotel will offer high standards of comfort and convenience when it opens later this year. The Premier Inn provides 96 bed rooms and incorporates a Beefeater restaurant. Its town centre location on the site of the old Hamilton Town Hotel, which was destroyed by fire in 2018, is ideal for business and leisure travellers.

Donald MacDonald, managing director, Ogilvie Construction, said: “We are proud to have successfully delivered a new high-quality Premier Inn hotel and Beefeater Restaurant on what had become a derelict site in the town centre. It is in an excellent position that offers direct access to the city’s amenities.

“We worked closely with the Premier Inn team to manage the challenges of the pandemic and complete a first class facility that I’m sure guests will enjoy for many years to come.”

The new Hamilton hotel is one of four new Premier Inn hotels that will open their doors to guests in Scotland this year, adding more than 550 new bedrooms into Premier Inn’s growing network and creating around 150 new year-round jobs.

Alongside the Hamilton Premier Inn, the new openings include a new super-sized Premier Inn in Glasgow city centre, a new hotel on Edinburgh’s Princes Street and the most northerly Premier Inn in the UK at Thurso in the Highlands.
