Pacific Building’s bespoke joinery expertise paying dividends

From Edinburgh to Glasgow, and to London and back, Pacific Building’s bespoke joinery expertise is paying dividends on fit-out projects of all sizes and complexities.

Across multiple sectors of operation, the company’s very own carpentry workshop – in the short time since its creation – has proved itself to be an integral part of Pacific’s success.

The environmentally sustainable facility has provided additional jobs and features all-new machinery, tooling and other equipment, and it covers an area three times the size of the workshop they formerly used at their main base in Hillington, on the outskirts of Glasgow.

A six-figure investment by Pacific Building – whose clients include McDonald’s, Mitchells & Butlers, Top Golf, and Airports across the UK – the workshop gives the company the ability to manufacture superior quality specialist pieces to meet increasing demand from the hospitality, retail and travel sectors.

For the year ahead the joinery expertise will come to the fore yet again over a number of projects that have been commissioned.

And if 2022 was anything to go by, then 2023 will be a year in which Pacific’s success is defined – at least in part – by their ability to produce fixtures and fittings and other items associated with furniture, waiting stations, bar tops, shelving, panelling, cabinetry, wall coverings, screens, storage, reception desks, covings and mouldings.

During the past year, project highlights have included:

  • The stunning All Bar One 2 restaurant for Mitchells & Butlers at Edinburgh International Airport
  • The popular Bird & Signet bar and restaurant at Glasgow International
  • Topgolf in Watford and Surrey
  • Plaza Premium Lounge at Edinburgh Airport
  • Fever-Tree Bar, Edinburgh Airport
  • Hudson Beare Building, University of
  • Frankie & Benny’s across three locations
  • Cosmedicare cosmetic surgery unit, Glasgow

Forthcoming projects include those for multinational contract food service company SSP at both Edinburgh and Glasgow, McDonald Vets in Glasgow and Marks & Spencer Simply Food. This is in addition to potential projects in the hospitality, healthcare and leisure sectors.

Since 2019, Pacific has been an employee-owned business, which means every staff member is a beneficiary of an Employee Ownership Trust, which owns Pacific Building Ltd on behalf of all employees now and in the future.

The company operates within a variety of sectors, such as commercial, leisure (encompassing hotels, licensed premises and restaurants), healthcare and retail – and has a wealth of experience of working in sensitive and secure locations, including international airports.

Its prestigious client base includes some of the UK’s biggest names as well as world-renowned businesses.
