The initiative was led by Bexs Thompson, a customer care coordinator at Persimmon Homes, whose son Mason attends the nursery. After touring the nursery and learning about their plans to improve the construction area, Bexs was inspired to help make it a reality.

Located just five minutes from Persimmon’s North Scotland head office, the nursery has now benefited from a range of donations provided by Persimmon and its contractors, including shovels, hard hats, wheelbarrows, hi-vis vests, safety goggles, signage, and bark chippings.

To add an extra special touch, Persimmon’s joiners also crafted bespoke wooden troughs for the children to play and build in, bringing the construction experience to life.

As part of the visit, the nursery also received copies of ‘Cones and Building Homes’ — a children’s book commissioned by Persimmon Homes to promote health and safety awareness around construction sites. Bexs and her team further contributed Persimmon-themed colouring books, allowing children to design and decorate their own dream homes.

The donation was personally delivered by Bexs and customer care joiner Gary, who helped set up the new play area with the nursery team.
