Persimmon Homes North Scotland has welcomed a new trainee quantity surveyor – who follows in the footsteps of his older brother.
Stephen McKay’s brother Christopher began his own career with Persimmon through the graduate scheme and now works as the company’s marketing coordinator.
Inspired by Christopher’s journey, Stephen, from Cumbernauld, has chosen to launch his own career with the homebuilder.
In his new role, Stephen will combine studying with hands-on training, working alongside one of Persimmon’s experienced quantity surveyors.
He will support commercial administration, prepare and monitor tenders, and help liaise with contractors as new developments are brought forward.
James MacKay, Persimmon North Scotland managing director, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Stephen to the team.
“His brother Christopher has already made a real success of his career with Persimmon, and it’s fantastic to see Stephen taking the same opportunity to learn and grow with us.
“We’re passionate about nurturing young talent, and Stephen’s enthusiasm will serve him well.”
Stephen McKay said: “Seeing how my brother has developed his career at Persimmon made me want to take the same path.
“I’m looking forward to learning as much as I can and working towards building a long-term career in the industry.”
