Planning granted for Perth office facility for SSEN

Councillors have approved plans by energy firm SSEN to build a new £15 million office building on the outskirts of Perth.

The two-storey building will be located within Inveralmond Industrial Estate at the end of Ruthvenfield Way next to City Plumbing and Lewis Don vehicle repairs.

SSEN said the expansion plan is due to the “significant growth in electricity transmission planned across the north of Scotland”.

A spokesperson for SSEN said: “We welcome the recent planning approval for our new state-of-the-art office facility in Perth, which will support our future operational requirements as we continue to deliver a network for net zero emission in the north of Scotland.

“This investment will also support local jobs, demonstrating our continued and future commitment to Perth and the surrounding area.”

SSEN is also progressing plans for a new operational depot in Aberdeen and new warehouses in Dundee and Inverness.
