A major new housing development of more than 180 homes has taken a step forward in Dundonald, with fresh proposals now submitted to South Ayrshire Council.
Hope Consultancy Ltd has lodged plans covering the next three phases of a wider masterplan for land at Kilmarnock Road and Tarbolton Road. The Drongan-based firm says the project will deliver a “new housing community”, with around a quarter of the overall site already built out.
The first phase — 63 affordable homes delivered by Connect Modular — is now complete.
Under the new proposals:
- Phase two would see Briar Homes deliver 49 properties, including detached and semi‑detached houses, in both single and two‑storey designs.
- Phase three, led by Hope Consultancy, would add a further 60 homes across seven different house types.
- Phase four, to be built by Campbell Homes, would provide 78 additional properties.
A planning statement submitted with the application notes that permission for the initial 63 affordable homes was granted in March 2021 as part of the wider masterplan, which already holds planning permission in principle.
The statement added: “This planning application seeks to develop out the remaining 187 units allocated to the site within the adopted local development plan.”
