The Craigo and Glenskinno development would have a collective capacity of 120 megawatt, seperated equally between a solar park and battery energy storage system on land, situated near Montrose, The Courier & Advertiser (Angus and Dundee) reports. 

The site spans across 493 acres, with solar panels having been proposed across 316 acres.

Proposals have been submitted by British Solar Renewables (BSR) to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit (ECU).

BSR’s submission comes after a series of public consultations, including a ‘meet the developer’ event which took place in late 2024. 

Later in March and November 2025, drop-in information sessions at Hillside Village Hall took place. 

The detailed plan lodged with the ECU reflects alterations made in response to the consultation process, according to the applicants.

Those include the removal of seven 89.5-metre wind turbines from the overall development.

There has also been a drop in the overall solar area and bigger distances between panels as well as properties.

Project manager Duncan Gray said: “Submitting these proposals marks an important step in bringing forward a project that can make a real contribution to the renewable energy future of Angus and reflects our commitment to both renewable energy and environmental responsibility.

“We have listened carefully over the past year and the design reflects the feedback from local residents and stakeholders.”

Angus Council is a statutory consultee. The council is likely to issue a response on the project to be submitted to the ECU.
