Rail infrastructure contractor QTS Group has been awarded the Investors in Diversity Silver Award by the National Centre for Diversity.
The accolade recognises the firm’s ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive, equitable, and diverse workplace.
Successful recognition followed a comprehensive review of the company’s policies, practices, and culture, with the contractor required to demonstrate significant progress in embedding equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) at every level.
The achievement follows an 18-month journey, which saw QTS Group engage with its employees across the business to identify areas for improvement.
This included implementing training and awareness initiatives and introducing new processes that promote respect and equal opportunities.
The accreditation reflects QTS Group’s broader ambition to foster a culture built on respect, representation, and equal opportunity – not just for its employees, but for the entire rail sector.
It also aligns with the company’s sustainability and people strategies, which prioritise wellbeing, learning and development, and community engagement.
QTS Group is now pushing forward with its plans to achieve the Gold Award, which forms part of its long-term EDI roadmap.
Andy Steel, managing director at QTS Group, said: “Receiving the Investors in Diversity Silver Award is a proud milestone for us and a testament to the hard work and commitment of our entire team.
“As a major employer in the rail sector, we have a responsibility to lead by example and take this very seriously. Our aim has always been to create a workplace where everyone can thrive, regardless of their background, gender, ethnicity, age, or ability.
“We’re committed to increasing diversity and inclusion not only within our own business but across the wider rail industry. By breaking down barriers and providing opportunities, we can build a more resilient sector where people from all walks of life can have successful and fulfilling careers.”
