Ravenscraig renews support for community bus service

Ravenscraig Ltd has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting sustainable transport with continued funding for the local circular bus service linking the site with Motherwell town centre.

The service, operated by ARG Travel, connects key destinations including Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility and surrounding residential areas, improving accessibility for residents, visitors and businesses.

By maintaining investment in the route, which Ravenscraig Ltd commits approx £200,000 annually, it is helping to ensure reliable public transport connections as development across the site continues, supporting access to jobs, education and local amenities.

As one of Europe’s largest brownfield regeneration projects, Ravenscraig is being transformed into a new mixed-use community, with thousands of homes alongside commercial, education and leisure facilities. Transport connectivity remains a central part of that vision, ensuring the site is accessible and well-integrated with the surrounding area as it grows.

Russell Wilkie, director at Ravenscraig Limited, said: “Providing accessible and reliable transport links is a key part of creating a well-connected, sustainable community at Ravenscraig.

“This continued investment ensures that residents, businesses and visitors can easily travel to and from the site, while supporting wider efforts to encourage more sustainable travel choices across North Lanarkshire.”

The ongoing support reflects Ravenscraig’s long-term vision to deliver a fully connected community, with infrastructure in place to support continued growth across housing, employment and leisure.
