Fresh plans for a multi-million-pound extension of Murrayshall Country Estate near Scone have been submitted.

The owners Stellar Murrayshall LLP had lodged a bid for Planning Permission in Principle (PPP) in April 2021 for a spa & leisure facility, outdoor pursuits area, golf academy, indoor games room, premium glamping units & lodges as well as upgraded staff accommodation. This application was withdrawn almost a year later.

The new plans could see a £30 million investment by the owners of Murrayshall Country Estate for an extension to the hotel, the creation of lodges, a new cafe and spa and leisure facilities at the venue.

Stellar Asset Management has already spent £1m on refurbishing 14 of its suites. A new restaurant, Eolas, opened in April.

Under the proposals, the hotel would double in size, glamping pods would be built and an outdoor sports ground would be created.

Gary Silcock, general manager for Murrayshall Country Estate, told The Courier: “We have listened to the local community and have reconsidered our aspirations for the future of the estate. We are now bringing forward new plans for consultation.

“The masterplan we are bringing forward would generate substantial benefits for the local economy and would provide a sustainable future for the estate, ensuring its resiliency for decades to come.”

A public consultation event will take place at Murrayshall on December 12, from 1 to 7pm. A further event takes place on January 31.
