Scottish building preservation company Richardson and Starling has created history by becoming the first UK company to win Contractor of the Year two years running.

Over 400 companies were audited by the Property Care Association with the Cambuslang-based firm coming out on top at their annual Best Practice awards ceremony held at The Slate, University of Warwick last Thursday night.

The business also walked away with the Project of the Year award for preservation work at the Double Row Tenements in New Lanark and were also successful in the Training and Staff Development category.

“We are proud to win these prestigious awards and I would like to thank all our staff who work hard to deliver a quality service,” said Richardson and Starling’s managing director, Graham Duncan.

At the same awards ceremony last year the firm walked off with the gong for Contractor of the Year in the Damp and Timber category.

“To repeat our success is a fantastic achievement but to also become the first UK company to do so is testament to our high calibre workmanship and property care services,” added Mr Duncan.

Richardson and Starling is the largest company in the Veitchi Group with 12 offices and has been providing property care services since 1935.
