“We are committed to closing the attainment gap and ensuring that even more of our young people are able to take advantage of new opportunities. The provision of a high quality learning and teaching environment for young people is an important part of these efforts.

“These buildings provide a new focus for the community and are a great source of pride for local people.”

Councillor Hunter added: “The school estate in Dundee has been transformed in recent years, there is still massive change for the good ongoing.

“Completion of the new Sidlaw View Primary is a milestone on an exciting journey that will also see Baldragon Academy replaced. Everyone connected with these schools is excited at the prospect of a stunning new campus that will help inspire our pupils for generations to come.”
