Robertson recognised for supporting armed forces community

Veteran and Assistant Site Manager Shadrech Chipwatali collected the award on behalf of Robertson, presented by Brigadier Andy Muddiman, Naval Regional Commander Scotland & Northern Ireland.
Robertson has been awarded the Armed Forces Covenant Silver Employer Award in recognition of its work to support the armed forces community through employment and training opportunities.
Accredited through the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), the award is testament to the ongoing work by Robertson to support reservists, cadets, current and ex-military and their families.
Robertson initially received the ERS Bronze Award in October 2023 after pledging its commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant – a formal promise to ensure that those in the armed forces community are treated fairly.
Bronze, silver and gold awards are used as recognition for employers who go above and beyond their Armed Forces Covenant pledges and are the highest badges of honour for Armed Forces friendly organisations.
Robertson CEO Elliot Robertson said: “At Robertson we have been creating an award-winning workplace that is inclusive and recognises the talents of individuals. We are very much one team, and each team needs a cast of players with different strengths and capabilities. We recognise, and know first hand, that the members of Team Robertson – either active or veteran – are talented, highly-skilled and uphold values and behaviours that align with the Robertson Way.
“It was a great honour for us to have one of our veterans, Shadrech, collect the award on behalf of Robertson.
“We are already taking active steps to strengthen our support for the armed forces community, with our sights now firmly set on the Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award.”
Alongside offering inclusive career opportunities for the armed forces community, Robertson has delivered a range of projects for the defence sector.
These include a £60m single living accommodation development for RAF personnel last year, a state-of-the-art assembly hall used to build Type 31 frigates for the Royal Navy, and the delivery of the £100m Atlantic Building for Boeing, on behalf of DE&S, which is home to a fleet of Poseidon MRA Mk1 planes.
