Robertson Timber Engineering (RTE) is enhancing its mass timber solutions offer in line with customer requirements and combined net zero goals.

RTE has been designing, manufacturing and erecting precision-engineered quality frame structures for over 35 years. Having delivered an array of projects, the business is looking to strengthen its successful supply chain with experienced mass timber erectors, designers, and contract managers.

The construction industry has an important role to play in built environment innovation and eco-friendly options to meet net zero goals. Timber – a safe, reliable and sustainable build material – is being adopted more than ever to support the decarbonisation of buildings.

Due to the expert off-site manufacturing RTE provides, embodied and operational carbon is reduced from the very start of a project due to the sustainable properties of timber.

Research work on a house that RTE supported the construction of was highlighted in a recent government paper, ‘Timber in Construction Roadmap’, which showed that ‘95% of structural timber could be recovered damage free and reused in the same building type.’

Mike Turner, managing director, Robertson Timber Engineering, said: “To expand our current product offering alongside meeting vital net zero targets for both our customers and local authorities, we are pleased to have the opportunity to strengthen our current supply chain.

“Our skilled team design, manufacture, deliver and erect precision-engineered products, and this is the ideal opportunity for experienced erectors, designers, and contract managers with a passion for quality to work with Team Robertson.”

RTE is hosting a Mass Timber Build Solutions Subcontractor Event (by appointment only) on Tuesday 20 February and Wednesday 21 February, 9am – 4pm, remotely or in-person at Robertson House, Castle View Business Park, Stirling FK9 4TZ. To find out what opportunities there are to work with the team, please make an appointment with Sharon Ireland on 01343 557501 or by email at s.ireland@robertson.co.uk.

RTE currently delivers for Scotland’s housing market, where 75% of new homes utilise timber frames. It has also supplied the timber frame kit for the £27m ONE SeedPod project and the frame for the new Moorpark Primary School in Kilbirnie.
