Robertson Facilities Management has been awarded top honours at this year’s PFM Partnership Awards, taking the Overall Winner title for its work with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS).

Robertson and SFRS collected two awards, winning the Partners in Expert Services, Large Estates category along with the Overall Award. Now in their 31st year, the national awards recognise excellence in partnership within facilities management. Entries were assessed on partnership, innovation, achievement and sustainability.

Judges commented on the strength of the submission, noting the quality of the provision delivered by Robertson and the collaboration between contract provider and customer, describing it as an excellent example of partnership working.

Robertson Facilities Management has supported SFRS, the world’s fourth largest fire and rescue service, over the last three years as specialist hard services partner.

The contract covers all planned and reactive maintenance across a diverse estate of 600 buildings totalling 209,133 square metres. This includes fire stations, offices, headquarters and training facilities, delivered in line with SFRS improvement planning.

Activities within the hard services contract include all aspects of statutory compliance, capital projects, energy management and specialist consultancy services.

Adrian Mole, executive managing director, Robertson Facilities Management, said: “Collaboration, open communication, innovation, quality and value shape the Robertson Facilities Management approach. These awards reflect that approach and show that we are firmly established as a trusted partner of choice to some of the largest and most complex organisations in the country.

“The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service relies on Robertson to manage its demanding and highly dispersed estate so it can concentrate on saving lives. Our teams understand the importance of what this estate enables. The award is a credit to everyone involved in supporting the service each day.”

Ijaz Bashir, head of asset management, SFRS, said: “Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of people in Scotland.

“We rely on strong partners like Robertson Facilities Management to maintain and service critical SFRS infrastructure, so our first responders have the support they need to carry out their duties.

“This recognition of the service Robertson consistently delivers to SFRS highlights the positive impact of our partnership, and how it helps our crews to keep Scotland’s communities safe.”
