Scotland’s property sector celebrates standout achievements
Ryden crowned Industrial Agency Team of the Year
Scotland’s real estate industry gathered in Glasgow last week as the 13th annual Scottish Property Awards honoured the standout developments, deals and teams shaping the nation’s built environment.
More than 600 professionals attended the ceremony at the DoubleTree by Hilton, marking another year of innovation, resilience and sector‑wide collaboration.
The top accolade, Property Company of the Year, went to Drum Property Group, recognised for its sustained growth, ambitious development pipeline and contribution to transformative projects across Scotland. Judges praised the company’s consistent delivery and strategic vision.
The coveted Deal of the Year award was presented for the landmark Port Hamilton transaction in Edinburgh, involving Drum Property, Hamilton PropCo, Knight Frank, CBRE, HSBC Asset Management and a wide consortium of legal and financial partners. Judges highlighted the scale and complexity of the deal, calling it a defining moment for Scotland’s investment market.
The Business Leadership Award was awarded to Les McAndrew, senior partner at Graham + Sibbald, in recognition of his long‑standing influence and respected leadership within the profession.
The event also raised £11,941 for charity partner Spifox, with a new annual fundraising award launched in partnership with CHAS to support the redevelopment of Rachel House Hospice.
A standout moment of the evening was Ryden being crowned Industrial Agency Team of the Year, after previous wins in 2024 and 2022.
Judges recognised Ryden’s exceptional year, which included 250 industrial transactions completed, advisory roles on over 3 million sq ft of speculative industrial development, and major deals such as:
- 56,281 sq ft letting at 101 Centre Street, Glasgow
- 38,617 sq ft letting at Starlaw Park, Livingston
- 67,376 sq ft acquisition for Odfjell Drilling, the largest industrial transaction in Aberdeen in 2025.
Ryden’s strengthened capability following its strategic partnership with Lambert Smith Hampton was also highlighted as a key factor in its success.
Managing partner Alan Gilkison said the award reflects the firm’s “quality, commitment and collaboration,” adding that the LSH partnership has enhanced Ryden’s ability to support increasingly complex client requirements while remaining rooted in local markets.
Carbon Futures celebrates its recognition
Energy consultancy Carbon Futures earned a Highly Commended recognition in the Net Zero Development of the Year category for its role in the transformation of the Take A Bow Opportunity Centre in Kilmarnock.
Working alongside O’DonnellBrown Architects, the team delivered a deep retrofit of a deteriorating 1970s community building, achieving:
- A projected 65% reduction in energy consumption
- A drop from 265kWh/m² to 82kWh/m²
- Full alignment with UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard and LETI guidance
The project was praised as a model of community‑driven, sustainable redevelopment.
