With 625 employees, Farrans delivers projects in core sectors including aviation, water and renewable energy in Ireland and the UK. 

The Northern Ireland-based building and civil engineering contractor is currently active in Scotland on a new Caithness wind farm and is set to begin work on a new £59 million transport project which will connect Paisley town centre with the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS) and Glasgow Airport.

Sisk is acquiring Farrans from the building materials provider CRH.

As part of the sale, which is subject to relevant regulatory approval, the Farrans business will continue to trade under its own brand and all project operations will continue as normal. The consideration will not be disclosed.

Sisk, which operates across Ireland, the UK and Europe, said the coming together of the two successful contracting businesses will unlock new opportunities for delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland.
