Springfield backs Inspiring Darts with year-long competition sponsorship
Springfield Properties is supporting Inspiring Darts, an Elgin-based charitable group that provides opportunities for people with learning disabilities to take part in darts in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
The high-quality housebuilder with developments in Elgin, Inverness, Dornoch and Buckie, is covering the cost of the group’s competitions for the year, helping to remove financial barriers and ensuring members can continue taking part in events that build confidence, coordination and concentration skills.
Inspiring Darts meets regularly in Elgin and supports members to develop their technique, improve numeracy skills through scoring and enjoy the social benefits of being part of a team.
To mark the support, Courtney McBain, assistant accountant at Springfield and a keen darts player who has been involved in the sport since childhood, joined Shelley Ritchie, founder of Inspiring Darts, alongside volunteers and members, for a cheque handover.
Sharing her enthusiasm for the sport and the group’s impact, Courtney said: “I got into darts through my family as they all played, so it’s something I’ve enjoyed since I was young. Now playing in the Inverness league and representing the Highland County team has given me the chance to compete across Scotland and further afield, and I’ve seen first hand how inclusive and rewarding the sport can be.
“It’s fantastic to see groups like Inspiring Darts creating opportunities for people to get involved, build confidence and feel part of a team. At Springfield, supporting the communities where we live and work is really important to us, and we’re proud to help Inspiring Darts continue the great work they’re doing locally.”
Shelley Ritchie, founder of Inspiring Darts, said: “Springfield’s sponsorship has made a real difference to our members. Being able to present 32 recycled trophies for our seasonal competitions and eight brand new trophies for our Jim Clark Memorial Cup means our members can celebrate their hard work and success in a meaningful way.
“These awards represent more than achievement - they build confidence, pride, and a strong sense of self-worth within our community. We are proud to partner with a sponsor that values community achievement as much as we do.”
