Three Ayrshire housing associations have teamed up to deliver an innovative new reactive repairs service.

Ayrshire Housing, Shire Housing Association and Atrium Homes have joined together to appoint Sureserve Energy Services to manage their reactive maintenance contracts across all three organisations for the next five years.

The alliance will focus on collaborating to improve services, share best practices, and provide a more responsive reactive repairs service for tenants.

Sureserve have delivered a high performing reactive maintenance service to Shire for the past four years, meeting all performance targets while achieving a high level of customer satisfaction, and has supported Atrium on reactive and major works as needed for a number of years.

“We are delighted to be joining our partners in providing a new reactive repairs service for our tenants,” said Ayrshire Housing chief executive, Lesley-Anne Junner. “Sureserve’s performance for Shire and Atrium has been exceptional and they are now bringing their expertise and professionalism to serve our tenants, too. Tenants have been telling us that they want a high quality, customer centred service and I’m confident Sureserve will deliver.”

Lesley-Anne added: “They have the right balance of value for money, experience and a track record in delivering a successful service.”

As part of the new contract, Ayrshire Housing is putting improved customer service with timely and effective repairs, completed ‘right first time’ at the heart of the new agreement.

“Following on from feedback from our customers about their desire for quick and effective repairs service we are looking forward to working with Sureserve who share our values in relation to customer excellence and excellent communication,” said Lesley-Anne.

With the contract bringing economies of scale, partners are confident that they will get a better quality of service for tenants’ money and one that it will open up employment opportunities locally.

Atrium Homes chief executive, Shannon Watson, said: “Repairs are a really important part of the day-to-day service that we offer to our tenants and so we must deliver work that meets our customers’ expectations. We are pleased that by collaborating with our partner organisations in Ayrshire, we have been able to secure a comprehensive repairs contract with Sureserve.

“Sureserve is a trusted and experienced contractor, and we are pleased that, by working together with our partner landlords we have secured a contractor which will provide a dedicated operational base in Ayrshire, demonstrating a commitment to the area and ensuring a locally focused service for our tenants.”

Shire Housing Association chief executive, Jim Munro, added: “Shire Housing Association was delighted to work collaboratively with Ayrshire Housing, and Atrium Homes to agree this new repairs service. Sureserve Energy Services has provided a high-quality service to Shire tenants since 2022, and we look forward to continuing to work with them delivering an excellent service to our tenants.”

The Associations have the option to extend the contract for a further 24 months.
