A building services firm is reporting a significant increase in demand for renewable energy installations.

Arc-Tech Scotland, a Glasgow-based building services business, has secured more than £1.5 million of solar photovoltaic installation contracts so far in 2017.

As a result of growing demand, the organisation has recently appointed a new renewables technical engineer to oversee contracts and drive forward future growth. Giovanna Fionda has six years’ experience in this field and will be a real asset to the business going forward. To support the growth in demand, a further five people are set to join the business over the coming months.

Arc-Tech delivers a wide range of industrial commercial, building services including heating, plumbing, gas and electrical installations, off-site manufacturing and design and build projects to the building trade throughout Scotland and see the renewable sector as a key component of their operations. Their renewables team is currently live on three projects across the central belt including a 206 home residential development in the city centre of Glasgow and will soon start a fourth this May located in North Lanarkshire.

John Gallacher, managing director of Arc-Tech, said: “Arc-Tech has only been operational for 11 months so to have this level of work in what is a heavily competitive sector is an outstanding achievement. Renewable energy is in high demand and our business must respond to this accordingly so we are delighted to bring new staff on board who have the experience to take the company to even higher levels.

“To announce this level of work so soon after successfully handing over our first two projects for Glasgow Airport and SSE is a proud moment for Arc-Tech as we look forward to the new challenges that lie ahead over the coming 12 months.”
