Construction companies in Tayside are being invited to share in projects worth more than £130 million.

Robertson Tayside and Robertson Partnership Homes are looking to hear from local subcontractors in relation to projects being delivered over the next couple of years including schools, homes and pharmaceutical services.

A Meet the Buyer event is taking place from 8am until 10am on Tuesday, November 1 at the Craig Suite in Dundee’s Invercarse Hotel, with interested parties welcome to come along.

Kevin Dickson, regional managing director, Robertson Tayside, said: “The construction industry in this area is vibrant and we are keen for as many local businesses as possible to get involved.

“With several major projects due to get underway across Tayside and beyond over the next few months, there will be opportunities for subcontractors to bid for a wide variety of roles.

“There will also be opportunities for young people to take their first steps into what could become thriving careers in the construction industry.”

Upcoming projects for Robertson Tayside include construction of Coldside Primary, development of the North East Campus, which will see several aging primary schools and nurseries come together, and construction of a pharmaceutical facility in the grounds of Ninewells Hospital.

Robertson Partnership Homes is to carry out more than £30m of work in the area including construction of 150 properties at Derby Street and around 60 homes at Finavon Street, Fintry.

Stewart Shearer, managing director, Robertson Partnership Homes, said: “The construction of more than 200 properties will form a major part of the regeneration in Tayside.

“We look forward to working with local tradesmen and women to help transform the affordable housing sector in the area and would encourage any interested parties to attend our Meet the Buyer event in Dundee.”

Trades required for the contracts include specialists in scaffolding, joinery and civil engineering. Bricklayers, decorators and kitchen fitters are being sought, as are specialists in windows and doors.
