The JR Group donates £2,000 to Street Soccer Scotland

The JR Group has donated £2,000 to support Street Soccer Scotland as part of an ongoing sponsorship of the group’s Scottish Mental Health and Wellbeing League.

The donation from the Paisley-based company has allowed the group to purchase football kits for the teams involved in the competition, travelling from across Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The league officially kicked off in March 2023 at Little Kerse in Grangemouth and will continue on the last Tuesday of every month throughout the year.

The league was established to help provide free football sessions and additional support services to communities across Scotland and to support positive mental health and wellbeing.

Heather Manson, head of fundraising at Street Soccer Scotland, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support from The JR Group in supplying brand new kits for our players. Wearing a smart strip brings about a real confidence in the team and shows that people really believe in them and their talent.

“All participants from our Glasgow and Edinburgh programmes will be a part of the Scottish Mental Health and Wellbeing League over the next six months and will be donned in their branded JR Group strips in locations across Scotland. Together, we are helping to create a more positive and inclusive community.”

John Horne, managing director at The JR Group, added: “We are proud to be able to sponsorship the Mental Health and Wellbeing League hosted by Street Soccer Scotland to help provide a fantastic way for people to meet others and practice positive mental health within their communities.

“Working within the construction industry, practising positive wellbeing and support towards good mental health is always a key focus for The JR Group so being able to support this message within our wider community is a hugely rewarding experience.”
