Tulloch Homes and Highland Housing Alliance deliver over 200 homes
Bynack More
In the last two years Tulloch Homes and Highland Housing Alliance (HHA) have delivered over 200 mid-market rent (MMR) homes in the Highlands through an ongoing partnership.
Their partnership has delivered the MMR homes in major developments in Aviemore, Inverness, Conon Bridge and Kirkhill.
This most recent milestone marks the handover of 41 two-bedroom MMR apartments at Aviemore’s Bynack More development. A total of eight of the apartments have been prioritised for blue light workers.
Additionally, a further 19 MMR homes will be delivered at Tulloch Homes’ Riverford development, located in Conon Bridge. HHA will manage and own 15 of the homes, with the four properties remaining to be sold by Highland Council via the Scottish Government’s LIFT (Low-cost Initiative for First Time Buyers) scheme.
This development arrives at a period when rental housing demand has shot up, with over 1,000 people applying for ten HHA homes at Parks View in Inverness during 2026.
The Highlands region is facing an evident housing shortage, with a forecast requirement for 24,000 new homes over the next ten years.
The progress of the HHA and Tulloch Homes’ collaboration has been solidified through investment from The Highland Council, the Scottish Government, and the Inverness
and Highland City-Region Deal.
Gail Matheson, chief executive officer at Highland Housing Alliance, said: “The handover of these new homes at Bynack More, alongside our commitment to further development,
marks a significant step forward in increasing the supply of high-quality, fairly priced housing across rural Highland communities.
“In our 20-year history, we have never seen demand for rental homes so high, and developments like this are vital in helping to address the clear imbalance between
supply and need.”
Matheson added: “Equally, collaboration between the public and private sectors is critical to tackling Scotland’s housing challenges and enabling the delivery of homes
that sustain thriving rural communities.”
Kieran Graham, managing director of Tulloch Homes, said: “Housing is fundamental to economic growth. By increasing supply and broadening tenure options, we are helping to support the Highlands’ long-term ambitions, including the opportunities presented by the Inverness and Cromarty Firth Green Freeport.”
For over twenty years, HHA and The Highland Council have collaborated in their work, collectively providing more than 600 mid-market rent homes within the region.
Councillor Glynis Campbell Sinclair, chair of the Housing and Property Committee at The Highland Council, said: “Increasing the supply of affordable housing remains a key priority for The Highland Council, and we have clear, ambitious plans to deliver more homes across the Highlands.”
Sinclair added: “The delivery of new mid-market rent homes in Aviemore, alongside continued investment in communities such as Conon Bridge, will help tackle housing pressures, support sustainable growth and ensure more people can live and work locally.”
