Ten locals have started their apprenticeship with the homebuilders across painting and decorating, taping, plumbing and joinery disciplines.

Tulloch, who are part of the Springfield Group, is committed to training and developing the next generation of workers. Across the Group, 25 apprentices have joined the business this year alone, and 20% of site workers are apprentices.

16-year-old Emily Harkair from Carrbridge is among the new recruits and has joined as an apprentice plumber.

She commented: “I am a very practical person and wanted a career that would allow me to be hands on. This apprenticeship with Tulloch is giving me the opportunity to do exactly that while learning from professionals in the plumbing trade – I’m looking forward to getting started at Spey Green in Newtonmore.”

Joinery apprentice, Ryan MacDonald is also among the new starts and will be working at The Maples in Inverness. The 18-year-old from Inverness, added: “I’m really excited to get started on my apprentice. I researched Tulloch before applying and was impressed with the quality of the homes and the way the company treats their employees.

“I’ve always wanted to be a joiner and I’m often helping with joinery jobs around the house so I’m looking forward to developing this skill further.”
