Chartered building surveyors Whitecross Building Consultancy has announces the arrival of senior surveyor Alan McKay to its Glasgow office as part of the firm’s business expansion.

Established in 2010 by Graeme Scott, Whitecross is now a thriving building consultancy with offices in both Glasgow and Edinburgh, advising clients throughout the UK. The business has grown considerably over the past four years with staff numbers increasing by 200% in order to keep up with demand and activity from clients.

The company recently acted for long-standing client Redevco, owners of Princes Square in Glasgow, on the high profile project with Everyman Cinemas. Everyman Cinemas has signed a 30 year lease on a 10,000 sq ft unit in Glasgow’s Princes Square, which is due to open in Autumn this year. The Whitecross team was involved from the outset and held discussions with the tenant in relation to the feasibility of their proposals and assisted with providing practical solutions that enabled the tenant to achieve their objects within the parameters of the site constraints.

Whitecross provides specialist building consultancy and project management services across all sectors of the commercial property industry, from large industrial and office space to leisure and retail, and are currently involved in a number of projects in London in the banking sector, Princes Square in Glasgow, and acting for GAP in relation to its property portfolios in the UK.

Managing director Graeme Scott said: “We are delighted to welcome Alan to the team. The business has expanded significantly since it’s inception and we are currently working on a number of exciting projects across the UK. With over 20 years experience in the industry, Alan will be a great asset to our clients. We have an increase in workload from both retained and new clients nationwide and Alan’s appointment will substantially enhance our offering to them.”
