Join SAMH in building a better future for construction

Over the last year, SAMH’s Suicide prevention in construction initiative, funded by the CITB’s Industry Impact Fund in partnership with Barratt Homes North Scotland, has delivered free, industry specific suicide prevention and intervention training to construction sites, offices, trade bodies, and colleges across Scotland.

To mark the success and impact of the programme, SAMH will host a special celebration and recognition event on the 23rd October at Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen (from 10am-12:30pm), bringing together industry leaders and advocates committed to improving mental health across the sector. This event is free to attend.

The event will explore the lasting impact of the initiative, hear from industry experts on the importance of continued action, and feature a panel discussion on what meaningful mental health support can look like within construction. The panel will include representatives from Robertsons, Barratt Homes and SAMH.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to network over lunch and share ideas on how the industry can continue “building” (excuse the pun!) a culture where everyone feels supported.

This event is a chance to celebrate the organisations and individuals who helped drive change, while looking ahead to the next steps in wellbeing and suicide prevention across industries. Interested in attending? To express an interest, contact workplace@samh.org.uk.
