Research and evaluation agency Harlow Consulting has been appointed to develop an impact evaluation framework of regulatory reforms to the initial education and training of architects.

Changes to the VAT rebate scheme for the heritage sector would better safeguard the country’s fragile historic attractions, widen public access, and provide an economic boost, according to new findings.

Historic Environment Scotland (HES) has taken the decision to pause the Buildings at Risk Register (BARR) in order to consider long-term options for its future. The move comes after a review concluded the register was not helping to bring buildings back into use.

Views are sought from all heritage destinations with listed buildings across the UK to find out how much they pay on VAT on repairs, maintenance, and restoration.
