Plans to transform the site of a former mining village into a major outdoor recreation, heritage and tourism destination are to go on public display.

A team led by O’DonnellBrown Architects with White Arkitekter and Ekkist has been selected as the winner of a design competition for a £15 million cultural centre in Dumfries.

Planning research projects from across the UK and internationally have been shortlisted for this year’s RTPI Awards for Research Excellence. Ryden has been recognised in the prestigious Planning Consultancy category for its ground-breaking Planning for Infrastructure research project.
